Project Groups are the backbone of SSS. They are the ones who envision a sustainable Stanford and make it happen. Each project group designs its own plans with guidance and support from the Director of Strategy. The Co-Directors lead the overall vision of the club and communicate between club members and administration.

Director of Strategy
Spencer is a junior working towards a Biology Major and Earth Systems Minor. He’s interested in progress towards a world where human health, wealth and wellbeing are achieved equitably and are compatible with a thriving, diverse ecosystems. Spending most of his childhood and teenage years abroad in the Chinese city of Shanghai, Spencer started thinking about conflicts between the environment and economic growth after living under the cloud of hazardous air pollution. With experience as a Zero Waste Intern with Stanford/PSSI Stanford is passionate about personal as well as design driven efforts to reduce waste. Other realms of sustainability he’s excited about are: convenient and affordable public transportation, the role of biological diversity in food systems, and building bridges through better environmental communication and story-telling. You might find him: in the dance studio, reading outside, listening to podcasts while biking, glued to the screen of a basketball or football game, traveling, trying his hand at cooking.
