WHO ARE WE?
|
Students for a Sustainable Stanford is an inclusive and intersectional community that strives for long-lasting sustainable practices on and off the Stanford campus through discussion, engagement, and direct action.
Since its founding in 2000, SSS has grown and evolved into one of the most prominent environmentally-focused student groups on campus. We work on diverse issues such as climate change, environmental justice, water, waste, and more, and pursue initiatives and outreach efforts to build a more just and sustainable world. In 2010, we became an official student-led program at the Haas Center. |
Weekly meetings every Tuesday, 7-8pm in the Haas Center DK Room!

EducationOne of our keystone missions is to educate the broader Stanford community and connect students to sustainability projects that fit their interests. We host student panels and bring in speakers from all different sectors, from policy & advocacy to community health research, to help students see how they can link their academic interests to sustainability efforts. |
AdvocacyStudents for a Sustainable Stanford engages in a wide variety of projects both on and off-campus, including but not limited to partnerships with Bay Area-based Environmental Justice groups, waste audits, and $5 airport shuttles.

Community & MentorshipAs Stanford University’s largest sustainability group on campus, SSS facilitates a large community of sustainability-minded individuals. The organization comprises undergraduates in a broad range of majors and has a vast network of alumni. We work to connect general members to SSS community members that can serve as mentors through buddy-match and alumni engagement programs.
