About
The Events Team is responsible for planning and executing events for SSS to highlight current environmental justice work and to create spaces for community members to learn about sustainability. We plan a range of events from group hikes to the annual Stephen H. Schneider Memorial Lecture, which is the largest environmental lecture on the Stanford campus.
Work we do:
Work we do:
- Communicate frequently with faculty and students to understand and address student body interests
- Book venues, purchase supplies, write surveys, advertise, etc. to execute successful events
- Work closely with other project groups, especially media and internal community.
Goals
- Create comfortable and inspiring spaces for people to learn about and interact with sustainability
- Keep SSS connected to the rest of Stanford
- Use SSS's platform to highlight environmental justice work by frontline communities
